In this follow-up workshop to Introduction to R, we take things one step further. In a case study format, we go through the typical data analysis process, going from importing data to cleaning data over building models, to finally visualizing and reporting your findings. Instead of focusing on the traditional techniques for these different steps in the processing, state-of-the-art R packages are introduced that make your analysis easier, better and faster.

Participants in this Emergent workshop learned how to plan future demand for beer using simple Excel techniques! In this workshop you will learn how companies use forecasting methods to make predictions about the future. Data analytics consultant from AE, Ben De Wit, will introduce you to the world of forecasting in a 2h workshop, in presence of some snacks in the form of pizza
The evening will be structured as follows:
0. Free dinner (pizza)
1. Introduction to forecasting
2. (Short) Theoretic concepts of forecasting
3. Case: forecasting sales data using Excel
4. Small challenge in teams (no need to form teams in advance)
5. Reception with free snacks and drinks.
During the short challenge, we form teams and you try to develop a forecasting system that predicts daily ATM cash flow. You will directly apply the new skills you just learned during the workshop on a real world example. Your goal is to beat the accuracy of the other teams. There will be a small prize for the winner!
