About the event
For the first time in Emergent history, we are organized our Women in Data Science event! We invited 2 exciting company speakers and 2 keynote speakers to each provide an interesting talk given by a female speaker, tackling topics about the changes and opportunities in the female world of Data Science. Following the talks, the students experienced a speed-date format with the partners to continue discussing various related topics. 50 Students are invited for this exclusive event to inspire each other for the future female data science scene! ✨
Speakers of last year
An atypical leader, not afraid to be vulnerable and authentic. She is managing Partner of Sparkle, a data & AI consulting firm in the Cronos Group. This is her third startup / scale-up experience. Her talk will be about (female) sustainable entrepreneurship and leadership. She has a strong vision and passion for business, people and society and is on a mission to balance these three passions and inspire others.
At Sparkle, we help organisations maximizing the value of data. We do this by strengthening their architecture and governance structure, bringing our technological experience on board, and keeping the business needs and objectives as our main driver.
A Data Scientist and visionary ML Engineer who has built her skills working in software development and ML & AI annotation teams. She attributes her growth and accomplishments to invaluable mentorships and engagements in various tech communities. With a passion for empowering others in this journey, the focus of her talk will be to inspire fellow women to reach and exceed new heights by mastering their craft, continuously learning and actively participating in relevant tech communities.
An Artificial Intelligence (AI) Coach at BeCode.org, a social impact-driven digital skills and coding school. She uses an active pedagogy to teach in-demand digital skills to motivated individuals in vulnerable professional situations, helping these untapped talents to meet the needs of the job market. She is also an ambassador of Clusity.be, a community of women in tech in Belgium, she hopes to connect and empower other women to grow in the tech field. The world of data is ever-changing and driven by innovation and, at any stage of your career, you may find yourself at a crossroads of transitions. In this talk, she will share some tips on how to navigate the continuous change in the field of data science and AI based on both her coaching and personal experience.
Found her professional sweet spot in the intersection of business, technology and customer-first mindset and is a senior customer solutions manager at AWS. She brings in over 14 years of diverse international experience in driving digital transformation, leading advanced analytics programs and consulting top Dutch firms. Rakshaki holds a Masters in Business Administration and Bachelors in Computer Science from top schools in India. An avid reader, trained classical dancer, Carnatic vocalist and a mom, Rakshaki believes women bring a rare leadership ability to combine the impossible trinity of intellect, ambition and empathy.
